Tails

Not authentic, these two tails were made from store-bought feather boas that were simply cut in half. The gray tail would certainly make a good Munkustrap one, and the other would just fit...well, whoever. I always called it the "girl" tail. At each end of the real boas are string ties that can be attached to unitards with a fair amount of ease. But boas aren't very heavy, so in dancing they don't twirl as easy as a real CATS tail would, but I've solved that problem by curling up small rubber bands at the end of each tail among the feathers to act as a sort of weight. It works, too, and you can't even see them. Perhaps the one drawback, though, of using a boa is that--when you're dancing--there's always the chance you might step on it and leave a pile of ripped-off down feathers on the floor.
