Marlene Danielle
Like characters, I don't exactly have a favorite CATS performer, though there are several I really like. One of these is definately Marlene (Mar-lay-na) Danielle, and this is a small tribute to her.

The main reason I admire Danielle is because of her endurance. She has been with the Broadway production of CATS since it started...over eighteen years ago. Starting as an understudy, she worked her way up to play the roles of both Demeter and Bombalurina as the show now comes to a close. *sniff* Some of those performers on Broadway for CATS don't stick around long...some barely a few months! Even Ken Prymus, who has held the title of longest-runner in the men's division, was only with the show for about seven years, eleven less than Danielle. And from what I've heard from other performers: being a CATS performer is rough on your body, and that almost every morning you would wake up stiff and sore. Imagine doing that for over eighteen years! I saw her perform on Broadway twice. She was wonderful!

So here's a salute to you, Marlene, for meowing as long as you did! Meow!
